Iberworld Airbus A320 emergency landing in Canary Islands


An Iberworld Airbus run by Spanish tour group Iberworld A320 plane with 186 people on board was forced to immediately turn around and make an emergency landing in the Canary Islands on Wednesday June 10, 2009 after experiencing engine problems shortly after taking off.

The Spanish Iberworld airliner was headed from Las Palmas on the island of Gran Canaria to Oslo, Norway. It returned to the airport 10 minutes after take off. No passengers were injured and emergency procedures were followed without the need for the emergency services. The passengers were taken off the plane and the company planned to put them on a different plane bound for Oslo at midday.
